About Our Family

My lovely wife Susan and I met, married, and participate at the Unitarian Church in Westport CT, and our only son Trevor is now in the first grade and is reading well.

She has played concert violin for the past 20 years, and I have rowed crew shells for as long. I've never played a note and she's never taken a stroke. That may be part of our magic. ;) Susan rehearses and plays 2nd violin in at least four concerts per year.

I work two jobs: My 'full-time' job is as the Equipment Manager for the Norwalk River Rowing Assn., and I coach high school youth and adults in this demanding sport. I row and work out in these boats at least four times a week myself. Crazily, my 'part-time' job is Photography, although I work at this (7) days a week... YIKES!

I often refer to SharpByCoop Photography as 'we'. Susan works with me in my studio, and assists at shows.

In a past career, I was a motorcycle mechanic and racer, and still enjoy hi-performance vehicles. Fortunately, Susan's grandfather has been a life-long car nut and owns a garage full of classics. Here's one of his (3) Bugatti's, and he is frisking Trevor for his Hot Wheels stash.

Trevor is filled with a young boy's energy, and loves his cars and exercise. Already he has started amassing quite a coin collection, and he can make your head reel with his knowlege of them.

That's my current 2006 Subaru STI with a hi-performance turbocharged engine, that makes more hp than I need. So be it. It is a car with a split personality, and can drive to calmly to the grocery store, or rip off an eleven-second drag run.

I am gifted with such a healthy and close family, who allow me to persue all of my passions to their limits. I am also gifted to work with youth, and to help teach, lead, and instruct.
